Well hello! Any summer babies out there counting down the seconds ‘til bikini season? I feel qualified to provide the 411 on sunscreen because as many of you know - I have a facial birthmark (called a port wine stain) that requires me to be extremely diligent with my SPF.
If you’re on the hunt for SPF that is fun AND effective - you’ve come to the right place. Like anyone, if I enjoy using my skincare products I tend to use them more so I rounded up the BEST sunscreens on the market for face and body that you can add to cart for your upcoming summer adventures.
I personally wear sunscreen every day (even if I’m indoors) because from my understanding we can still get skin damage from our devices and the sunlight shining into our home and bouncing off of surfaces/windows etc. I guess you could say I’m a self proclaimed spf enthusiast.

FACE: LIQUID AND SPRAYS
VACATION | SUPER SPRITZ SPF 50 ☀️
Amazon $25 (free air freshener included) | Ulta Beauty $24
Dubbed as the “World’s Best Selling Sunscreen” Vacation is best known for their viral cool whip inspired can of SPF. I have yet to try it (hence why it’s not on my list) BUT I have fallen in love with their Super Spritz SPF 50 product. It’s compact, a little bit goes a long way and it makes reapplying sunscreen over makeup (or on the go) a BREEZE. I cannot recommend it enough.
SUMMER FRIDAYS | SHADE DROPS MINERAL MILK SPF 30 🧴
The key word here is.. MILK. This SPF really does live up to it’s name AND it’s a mineral sunscreen (which in my research and understanding is preferable). It’s super blendable and does not leave a whitecast whatsoever. The product itself has a tan tint to it and feels so weightless on the skin. I’ve been raving about this product ever since I discovered it randomly at Sephora one day!
SUPERGOOP | GLOWSCREEN SPF 40 💦
We all know the infamous Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen but I don’t always love that silicon feel on my face. I prefer using two shades of the Supergoop GlowScreen - one lighter and one more bronze shade to give my skin a radiant glow. User beware that if you go overboard it can make you look like the tin man (I say this from experience). This may be best layered in small amounts to avoid the super shimmery effect on the face.. on the other hand, go wild when it comes to applying on the body!
KATE SOMERVILLE | HYDRAKATE ILLUMINATING SPF 50 🌺
this has been my new go to.. if you want something that has no whitecast, doesn't have a silicon feel and is easy to wear under makeup or alone, this is PERF (and it has 5 stars on sephora!).
BODY: SPRAYS AND OILS
KOPARI | SUN SHIELD BODY GLOW SPF 50 ✨
This particular product has gone viral a million times over and for good cause. It is shimmery, not overly greasy or gross feeling on the skin and gives you the MOST GORGEOUS glow from within. Not to mention - it smells delicious. I feel very strongly that this brand is severely underrated - everything they make is chefs kiss.
KIEHLS | SUPER FLUID UV DEFENSE SPF 50+ 🥥
Now, this is pricey. Like majorly pricey. I would recommend looking for this one on discount - it has a very similar milky feel to the previously mentioned Summer Fridays Shade Drops sunscreen but has higher SPF coverage (50 vs 30). It’s also a lotion and I know some people prefer sprays.. so if that’s the case check out my recommendation below!
SUN BUM | ORIGINAL SPF 50 SPRAY 🌴
I think the price of quality sunscreen (especially for use on the body) can be quite outrageous so I find this price point to be reasonable for SPF 50. I like the smell and being that it’s reef safe, it makes for good traveling! If you want something even more natural, see below!
BARE REPUBLIC | MINERAL SUNSCREEN SPF 50 🐙
The price on this sunscreen is incredible being that it is a Zinc Oxide sunscreen (this is the best sunscreen you can buy). I will mention it is not the most sheer sunscreen in the world (expect some whitecast or blending with your hands after spraying body) BUT I find it to be effective, long lasting and of course, it smells delish!
KOPARI | ON THE GLOW SHEER STICK SPF 40 🐚
I recently went on vacation to Mexico, and this was my go-to on my trip for a quick hands-free sunscreen application! Not to mention… it smells AMAZING. It’s great for kids too!
